Azolla caroliniana

continental : We advise watering every 2-3 weeks with 1,2 litres of water, slightly dampening the ground, which should be kept always quite dry.

alpine : Water the the Azolla caroliniana about once a month, or even less, but only if the climate is pretty mild; instead if the temperatures are very harsh it is best to avoid watering. Usually we should water every 3-4 weeks using 11 litres of water.

mediterranean : The Azolla caroliniana doesn’t need much watering, especially during winter; the colder the weather is less we’ll have to water; usually we act every 1-2 weeks with 13 litres of water, but only if the climate is mild; if instead the temperatures are very harsh we can avoid watering.

continental : Plant which needs to be exposed to direct sunrays.

These plants can’t stand the frost, therefore it’s advisable to put them in shelter, in the house or in a cold greenhouse.

mediterranean : These plants love very sunny places, being exposed to direct sunrays even for many hours a day.
The Azolla caroliniana can’t stand iciness, therefore during the coldest months of the year we suggest locating it in a place where it’s sheltered from the wind.

Feed Azolla caroliniana : During the winter months it’s not necessary to fertilize aquatic plants.

Adversity Azolla caroliniana : A treatment with a fungicide based on sulphur and copper is usually used at the end of the Winter, to discourage the rising of the most common diseases.
